Our logo reflects two main features about Portugal: A country of biodiversity and a country with half of its borders with the Atlantic Ocean.
Therefore, the wavy lines resemble both the ocean waves and the DNA double helix, while the right part shows the Iberian wolf (Canis lupus signatus), also known as the Spanish wolf (the other half of our borders are with Spain, two countries of the Iberian Peninsula. The Iberian wolf is a protected species. The Iberian wolf can be found in the Northwest of the Peninsula, home of estimated 2000 animals. Grupo Lobo (Group Wolf) is an NGO dedicated to the pretection of the wolf and is run by biologists. (https://www.
